Restorative tattoo
Breast & Areola Restoration
Dimensional areola restoration and breast scar camouflage after mastectomy, top surgery, reconstruction, augmentation, reduction, and lift — in a private, unhurried setting.

How it works
The process
This is a specialized version of skin re-pigmentation. Work around the breast region calls for a particular skill set — an understanding of breast anatomy, breast surgery and its associated medical treatments, the physical and emotional journey behind them, and the healing restoration these transformational treatments bring with them. Restoration is not about returning to a before — it is about deciding what comes next. You get to write your own future.
Realism in your final result begins with drawing, color palette selection, deciding on the details within the tattoo, and a great relationship with your artist. We ask that patients be a minimum of three months post-op before consulting, so the assessment and planning are accurate. From there it is typically about two sessions, eight to twelve weeks apart, though that varies with individual factors — guided pre- and post-care and image submissions during healing are essential to your end goal.
Planning ahead
What to expect
Sessions
Typically about 2
The first builds shape and base color; the second refines dimension, depth, and symmetry after healing.
Spacing
8 to 12 weeks apart
May vary based on individual factors, since reconstructed and grafted tissue holds pigment differently.
Timing after surgery
3 months post-op minimum
Incisions must be fully closed and settled before an accurate assessment and tattoo planning are possible.
Your part

Who this is for
Procedures we restore
Post-mastectomy restoration
For single or double mastectomy, with or without reconstruction, including flat closure. We recreate areola color and detail, or work purely in scar camouflage where that is your preference.
3D nipple & areola recreation
Layered highlight and shadow create the convincing appearance of projection and texture on a completely flat surface — no surgical nipple reconstruction required.
Gender-affirming top surgery
Areola color, size, shape, and placement refined after top surgery, including repigmentation of grafted areolas that healed pale or uneven.
Augmentation, reduction & lift
Anchor, lollipop, and periareolar scarring softened with camouflage color, along with correction of areolas that stretched or lost pigment during healing.
Resizing & symmetry
Areolas that differ in size, shape, or placement can be visually balanced through careful reshaping of the outer edge and pigment density.
Repigmentation
Areolas that faded after surgery, radiation, or time can be restored to their natural depth of color without changing their shape.

The Consultation
A quiet conversation before anything begins
Your consultation is time set aside to review your goals, skin condition and healing history, treatment and medical history, any previous tattoo or permanent makeup work, realistic expectations, timing, and which of our artists is the right match for you.
Consultation fees are applied toward your completed procedure or treatment session.
