Scalp Micropigmentation in Philadelphia: Cost and How to Pick an Artist

Healed scalp micropigmentation restoring a hairline
Healed hairline density. Real client, no filters.

Prices for scalp micropigmentation around Philadelphia vary more than they should, largely because studios quote different things: some quote per session, some per hour, some for a whole plan. Here is what we charge, what moves the number, and how to compare one studio to another honestly.

What it costs with us

WorkPrice
Full scalp plan, all sessions$2,800 – $3,000
Smaller areas and scar workQuoted at consultation, less than a full plan
Consultation$49, applied toward your completed procedure

The detail behind those numbers is in what SMP costs and what changes the price.

Comparing quotes fairly

  • Ask what the number covers. One session or the whole plan? A quote of $900 means nothing until you know whether three more follow it.
  • Ask about touch-ups. SMP softens over years. Find out what a refresh costs before you commit.
  • Ask to see healed work at six weeks. A fresh scalp always looks dense. Healed work is the only fair comparison.
  • Ask about your pattern specifically. A shaved crown, a receding hairline and diffuse female thinning are three different jobs, and a studio should have healed photos of all of them.

If you are weighing this against a transplant

A lot of people find SMP while researching hair transplant surgery, or after one. It is not the same thing: SMP adds no hair, it changes what the scalp looks like, and it is non-surgical with no recovery beyond a few days of care. Many people use both — density between transplanted grafts, or camouflage over an FUT strip scar. The two are complementary far more often than they compete.

Getting to the studio

Our northern studio is in Doylestown, Bucks County — roughly 50 minutes from Center City, 20 from Newtown, 30 from Lansdale, with county parking near East Court Street. Most people make three or four visits over a few weeks, and the first consultation can be done virtually if the drive is long. Full detail on the Philadelphia and Bucks County SMP page.

What to expect from the consultation

We look at your pattern of loss, your existing density, skin tone and how your skin holds pigment, then give you a session count, a timeline and a price. If SMP is not the right answer for your situation, we will say so — that is what the consultation is for.
