Areola & Restorative Tattooing on the Treasure Coast & Palm Beach Coast
Dermagrafix has been placing restorative pigment since 2003. Clients come to our Stuart studio from Palm City, Jensen Beach, Port St. Lucie and Tradition, Hobe Sound, Jupiter, Tequesta and Palm Beach for areola restoration after mastectomy, scar camouflage, pigment loss and inkless texture work.
You do not need to know which approach you need before you book. Some areas are best served by camouflage pigment, some by texture work first, and some by a combination — deciding that is our job, and if tattooing is not the right option we will tell you.
Heads up: booking opens in a new tab on our scheduling partner's site, vagaro. Your appointment is still with Dermagrafix.

What clients in this area ask us about
Areola restoration after mastectomy
The most requested restorative work at the Stuart studio. Colour, shape and dimensional shading are matched to you — one side or both, after lumpectomy, mastectomy or flap reconstruction.
Reconstruction and lift scars
Breast lift, reduction and reconstruction incisions, treated with pigment, inkless texture work, or both depending on how the scar has healed.
Skin cancer and Mohs sites
A common request in a sun-heavy region — face, ear, shoulder and back excision sites, once your dermatologist is happy for us to proceed.
Pigment loss and vitiligo
Stable patches and hypopigmented scars repigmented to match the skin around them, never with white or flesh-tone pigment over darker skin.
Stretch marks
Abdomen, hips, thighs and upper arms. Mature, silvery marks respond best; fresh red or purple marks are asked to settle first.
Trauma and burn scars
Accident, laceration and burn scarring, often needing texture work before any colour is placed.
Sun, salt water and healing here
Living on the water changes how restorative work is planned, and it is worth knowing before you book.
Sun is the main thing that fades pigment
Treated skin is kept covered or protected while it heals, and sunscreen afterwards keeps a colour match true for years longer.
Plan around the water
Pools, ocean, hot tubs and heavy sweating are out for roughly a week after each session, so treatments are usually booked around boating and travel.
Seasonal residents
If you split the year between Florida and the north-east, a plan started here can be continued at our Pennsylvania studio.

Common questions
How long after reconstruction can we start?
Usually once reconstruction is complete and the chest has been settled for several months, with your surgeon's agreement. Preparing for your mastectomy tattoo.
Do I need a referral?
No, though we are glad to work alongside your surgical team.
Will it hurt?
Reconstructed tissue often has reduced sensation. Where feeling is intact, the session is described as scratching rather than sharp pain, and topical numbing is available. Comfort and realism.
What does it cost?
Treatment generally ranges from $399 to $799 per session. The number of sessions depends on the area, the skin and the restorative approach. What affects the cost.
Can the first appointment be virtual?
Yes. Consultations are virtual, so nobody drives up from Palm Beach or down from Vero Beach just to find out whether they are a good candidate.
